Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has been an actor, journalist as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for over ten years. She also is the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. She emigrated out of Greece to England aged 16 where she received an MA at Cambridge University in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the renowned debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. She became a conservative syndicated writer after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a few years following, she launched an online platform to voice opinions that offered criticisms on politics. It was possible for her to recruit several prominent contributors who posted their views on culture and politics. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 when she decided to run for a non-partisan position for the California recall election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. In addition, she was the leader of the Detroit initiative to encourage fuel efficient cars. Forbes named her as 12th on its list for the Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their Top 100 list in 2010. In 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media company, which also included a number of at the time-current AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos the journalist and management consultant. She was extremely close to her father, but it was the relationship she had with her mother which shaped her. At a young age she showed the qualities of a leader that she is still known for. At the age of 16years old, she emigrated from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined the college debating group Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972 she graduated with an advanced degree in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic and as a host on television. She was a guest on Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write the books she wrote with Bernard Levin's help.
